Mural Workshop #3: Painting

Part of Art @ Work

- Saturday, February 4, 3:30pm

Mural Workshop at the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery

We apologize, but this workshop is completely filled!

Please check out for future mural workshops at The Fridge gallery!

About the workshop:

In conjuction with Art @ Work, and facilitated by Albus Cavus' team of graffiti-style mural artists, this is the third of three on-site mural workshops that will transform the Gallery into a working studio. The third and final workshop - Painting - takes place on February 4th, and all three workshops will culminate in the unveiling of an on-site mural on February 17th, 2012.

Albus Cavus’ artists aptly use the well-known, graphic, urban art form — graffiti — to inspire, connect, and empower the city’s residents. Mural participants will trade in their traditional roles as passive observers for active roles as artists. Visitors of all artistic backgrounds, adults and kids (ages 12 and up) are invited to work with Albus Cavus to create a public art piece incorporating their unique voices and perspectives, which will eventually be  installed in a local neighborhood as part of Albus Cavus’ Open Walls project.

Please note: All workshop participants or adult guardians will be required to sign a liability waiver and photo release form.   The doors will be closed at 3.45pm out of respect for other participants.

There is a Suggested Donation of $10 for this Workshop.

Art @ Work will run from January 13, 2012 to February 18, 2012.

Regular Gallery Hours: W-F 11am–5pm, Sat 11am–3pm, and by appointment
